TIP: Print them you should be able to read.:) My checks cleared on the same day got the receipts yesterday. So you should be getting them today or tomorrow. I am not sure if attorney can chose whether to send it to you or not.

For your Information India's GDP is 3 trillion USD compare to Mexico 1 trillion USD. Taking into account GDP of EU India ranks 5th in GDP higher than any indivisual European nation where as Mexico ranks 13th. This is as per CIA worldfactbook. So where did you get the number

But since you raised the subject, PPP GDP is adjusted to accomodate for different inflation and consumption rates in different countries. Without the PPT adjustment, India's GDP is equal to Mexico's, even though India has 11 times the population of Mexico. The reason India comes in 4th with the PPP adjustment in the world is because the ruppee is undervalued and Indians have a purchasing power that is 4 times smaller than Mexicans. So, to humor you and use your method of calculation, the Per Capita GDP (PPP) Of India is $3,344 in 2006 and Mexico's is $12,886. "Where are all the Mexican doctores, computer scientists, economists and professors?" you ask. The answer is: They are IN MEXICO making huge salaries, when the Indian ones have to come here because their salaries in India don't give them enough money to eat. Why aren't all the construction workers and lawn workers in the U.S. Indian? Because they cannot affor the airfare. The Mexicans just walk accross the border. Any you know what? All those Indian Professors at Harvard etc are teaching class to all those rich Mexican kids. Get your facts straight before you confront me and make fun of my MBA (which I got in the U.S. incidentally, not Mexico, but if I had wanted I could have gotten a top 20 MBA back home). I have mailed my I-485/EAD/I-131 on July 26th and same were received at NSC on July 27th. I did get the receipt numbers for all the same yesterday. The receipt date is Aug 27th, 2007. I did have an TSC I140.

You are wrong. There have been lot of changes. Two year EAD for one. And how about EB2 category moving to mid 2006 so most of the EB2 people before that have got GC or will surely get it next year. The only thing that hasn;'t changed is EB3 India. It was stuck in 2001 at that time and still is in 2001. It will crawl to 2002 in the coming year but that's that.

Is suing the only option? USCIS could be making unintended mistake. We want to get clarification in a smoother and faster process before the flood gates open in October.
There should be some other legal-process to get written clarifications/interpretation etc on the law (like some kind of AILA discussion with CIS).
If our interpretation is correct, how many of you are willing to sue CIS??

Hi Guys,
I came to know that if there is a significant increase in the new salary compared to old labor salary, the chances of getting a query is more.
Let us assume that if you old labor salary is X and if you want to take up a new job with X + 30% or more the chances for USCIS query is more.
If the salary increases between the jobs is 10% there should not be any issue.
Of course, these words are not from an attorney, i talked to a senior guy who is in this profession.
Before you are planning to use AC 21, please consult with attroney first and they only accept the new job.

Based on my limited knowledge, and what I have read in this forum, it would seem it's always beter to maintain your H1B non-immigrant status as long as possible. That was why I said that.
To clarify - are you suggesting that it is advisable to use AVR if you have both AP and AVR, and you have not used EAD or AC21 so far. Also, my spouse and myself could be returning at different times in to the country from Canada. Does this change the preference of using either AVR or AP. Since I am the primary applicant but of course we plan to land together.

I don't find anything wrong with that, there are more important social issues than spending time on greencard seeker forums......Atleast 1 attorney who explained it elaborately was Ron Gotcher, you can check on his website for that info...

Brother your assumption is flawed if someone come under reservation category they get their guaranteed reservation seat (on their merit basis in that class) if reservation % is fulfilled as per rule then their application goes to open category. That means 50% resources is for everyone in India.
This was happened few years back to get admission in one of top Medical school after scoring more than 92% was not able to get to desired top medical school but one of his friend who had just scored 58% was able to get in top notch medical school. Now this remind me similar situation what was happened 50 years before. Now making matter worst student who had got 92% was belonging to very middle class or you can say poor family but his friend was belonging to class one gazetted officer�s family (I would classify them upper middle class).
I think reservation was required in past to up-lift backward class and give them justice in system but now situation is change drastically we see people from all class is on same page .if someone wants to argue on this that is fine. In real sense if we need reservation then it should be on economics basis everyone should file taxes and they should get reservation accordingly with merits .In this way government will get more revenue and on the whole we will have fair justice to everyone (all cast )and this will provide better visibility what is happening to normal families. Now some will debate how we can avoid fraud for reporting low income then hey that is what government should be doing, proving infrastructure and enforcing rule of law other than that government has no business in dictating which cast is upper cast or lower cast.
Now real question pose by the other users here are we better-off here or back home? I think we always indulge in material benefits but there are other aspect of life you cannot put face value on it .What matter is the most are you Happy? What is your ultimate goal of life? What is the most important thing you want to have in your life? What is the most irritating thing you cannot overlook or make you uncomfortable? On top of all these key questions what are tools /resources available to you to address all these likes dislikes. So let us say if you are shooting for quality life then define what must have for that life and to get those you may have to bite bullet and compromise on some of those. If you can find middle ground some where there then we call those people happy people or successful people. So life is about making right choice all the time as per your own situations. When we are in this fine-tuning process we can always use help from our resources, friends, relative, culture, God, Money and our own intellectual.

My best friend (brightest among all of my school friends) in India belonging to Backward class could not study medicine or engineering because he had (no money) to support his family..... so he finished his shortest teaching course and became public school teacher.... He was capable of getting into any medical school without reservation help... and because he belonged to lower cast he was assured in any medical college with the help of reservation.... this reservation system does not work for real lower cast or for people who really need uplifting..... between I could not get into medicine because I was 1 mark short...... Just 1 mark..... :) ..... I am really happy were I am but reservation is a plague that is corrupting our nation.......

I got the e-mail saying that they have mailed my 485 approval notice on August 4 - but nothing after that - will the notice come to me at home or will it go to the lawyer - also how long before the card production e-mail gets here - not that I am in a tearing hurry - I have waited several years so what is another month ?

File 485 on your own Man - They are even contemplating even in issuing the Employer letter.
They are telling me that let the PD retrogress again - we will go by H1B :)
My situation is not any better. I am working for a GA based company since 2001 got stuck in the backlog center with Priority Date Oct 2003 (labor apporved in Nov 2006 I-140 applied in May). After calling the company HR for 30-40 times in last one week I was able to talk to HR guy, he said the ceo will allow only those who have approved I-140 to apply for I-485. He also said then once priority date retogressed again I will be able to get 3 years H1B ext. that will be good for me.:mad: I think these desi blood sucking compnies will be obsolete in couple of years. If USCIS make the rules better.

Nothing had been achieven in last 9 years. Last thing when anything that congress did for immigration was AC21 in 2000. Than how do you thing whatever our agenda is, can be achieved ?? While I think our agenda has to be modified so that we don't ask them what they have been rejecting repeatedly.
Why dont we all stick to a common agenda where there are more chances rather than everyone coming with some and in the end you know what happens...

You have predicted that EB3-India cut of date would become June 2003. But your PD is July 2003. Usually people do not predict that way. They predict their own PD would become current pretty soon.:D

I think we have a provable point as per the USCIS CSR msg "We approve all cases based on the order they are received". So basically it says Approval based on ND. Approving Oct'07 NDs and not approving (not even touching) Jul-Sep NDs makes a valid point.
I am not sure how to put our case based on PD because to me PD serves the purpose of passport to get in and then line is formed by ND. But sure, if anyone could put some thoughts and define the situation, I think its well worth to try something different now.
