Moonlighting will be acceptable easily as long as it's on the code internist. Problem is some fellowships are so demanding that you wont be able to moonlight as an internist. If you can figure this out smoothly and yr employer agrees nothing is better. Good thought.
HI I am a physician (hospitalist) whose labor was under the catagory 'Internist' job code. The fellowship I am considering is open only to internist. I am also planning to moonlight as an internist while in fellowship. Would it be acceptable from the I485 point of view? Incidentally my I140 was approved more the 180 days ago.

A USCIS rule appears in a USCIS catalog or addendum. My International Student Advisor had a catalog of rules for F1, COPT and OPT. Everytime I did something out of the norm, I made a copy of the rules. I will keep these rules till I get the green card.
I was told that there is a 60 days period during which I can switch H1B between companies. To the best of my knowledge, it does not appear in a USCIS catalog: most persons say that it is true. My lawyer told me USCIS does not a rule for the period between company switching.
I was not aware of the 60 days grace period after OPT. Please let me know if you have seen it in a USCIS catalog.
I was told that consular approval can not be denied. I was close to being denied. The person before me was denied. Once you are out of the country, anything can happen. It depends on your country, your case and the officer handling the case.
The advantage of consular approval is that you get multiple entry visa.
Once again, a USCIS rule should appear in a USCIS catalog or addendum. The catalogs and addendums should be available online. Does anyone know about it?
Some things slip by but are noticed during the GC process.

1. Kaplan was issuing I-20's in my time.

That is correct. Mixing and matching with certifications doesn't work. Although I don't know about CPA, if it goes towards professional degree.
That's correct, also if the job requirement is Bachelor + 5 year experience is entirely different from Bachelor or equivalent +5 year experience. All that has changed lately. Quite a few people have gotten off easy some years ago but NSC and even other service centers has been enforcing EB2 requirements without mercy these days. A lot of those 3 year degree types are getting I-140 denials, especially those who got greedy and applied in EB2. I've even read about a few cases of denials in EB3 for these people. So dont worry too much about those kinds of people eating our lunch going forward. They will most likely be looking for good deals on their return tickets.

They will never come onboard for legals..we have to fight our own battle.

Individual members can have their own "opinions/biases", but NO individual member can speak on behalf of Immigration Voice on major issues. As per my understanding, ONLY the IV Core team/Board members as a WHOLE can make such decisions.

I got my approval email today, but my wife's online status remain unchanged received and pending. Does USCIS process dependent's application separately? Both mine and wife's application was sent the same day, FP notices were received at the same time..I mean everything was done at the same time except approval.

I'm on H1B and filed my 140/485 concurrently in Aug 2007. Can I do ONLINE MBA with out affecting GC process?
One can study on H1B visa and there is no effect on an underlying GC process as long as one obeys all the H1B requirements.

We have already set up/met with Reichert, Murray and McDermott. Pls help in setting up appointments with the others. You may have to leave a couple of voicemails before they get back to you: refer 1st para of the letter below.(total 30 secs/per voicemail ). Remember, they are very open to listeneing to you...you are teh future vote bank :)

Please also note that there are more than 350,000 Labor applications pending at the Labor department to be processed. Some of them are as old as from year 2000. Subsequent to rigorous but unfruitful recruitment efforts by our employers and other processing stages by USCIS, we still have to face prolonged wait times. It is also to be noted that most of us are already working in the U.S. for the past 5-6 years and are contributing to the U.S. economy in the form of taxes etc - some of which we do not derive any benefit from. This also hurts the businesses in your constituency like my employer because they have to wait indefinitely to hire talented applicants on a permanent basis. This is a very important issue and will determine whether the United States of America remains competitive in the fields of science and technology and retains the best talent from around the world.
ImmigrationVoice is a nonprofit organization comprised of volunteers who are suffering due to these delays and wish to bring this important issue in front of their lawmakers. Hence I would request an appointment so that I can explain these problems and ask for support for some of the legislative measures that have been introduced to alleviate these problems.

My fiancee is a MS student and currently has student loan in India being charged at 13.5%. I am wondering if there is any loan that i can get here with a lower interest rate to repay off the one in india.
I would appreciate any pointers or suggestions here.
If your fiancee is still in the school, you can probably apply for Alternate/Private Student Loan. These loans are offered by most of the banks based on the credit score and don't have crazy transaction fees and APRs as credit card and other balance transfer offers. The interest rate is variable and typically tied with the prime and repayment period is around 15-20 years. AGain it depends on what you choose. The good part is that the repayment does not start until your fiancee graduates and the interest you pay on the loan is tax deductible. No need to itemize while you file taxes.
Search for "Alternate/Private Student Loan" and that should give you enough information.

Mine was e-filed same date - June 19th.
My EAD and AP application was received June 19, 2009 at TSC. To my pleasant shocking & surprise USCIS approved mine and wife's application in 20 days and we received the card today.
We are happy with the speed and efficiency USCIS and wish they could do everything the same way. we received two year EAD but concerned as receiving a two year EAD indicates that it may take a while to get my PD (Dec 2005).
